Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026. This notice explains how Maggie the Tour Guide handles information when you browse this website or contact Maggie about a private tour.

Who is responsible

Maggie McMenamy, Maggie the Tour Guide. Email: maggiethetourguide@gmail.com. Postal contact: see the Impressum.

Website hosting and security

This website is hosted by WordPress.com and uses Jetpack services provided by Automattic. Technical information such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and timestamps may be processed to deliver the website, prevent abuse and maintain security. This processing supports the legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Automattic’s privacy notice for site visitors.

Contact and tour inquiries

When you submit the contact form, Maggie receives your name, email address, travel dates, group size and message. The form is provided by Jetpack; submissions are stored in WordPress and delivered to Maggie’s business Gmail inbox. Akismet may process submissions and associated technical information to detect spam. Please avoid sending sensitive medical details; describe practical accessibility needs only as necessary.

Information is used to answer your inquiry, arrange your tour and communicate about your booking. Processing necessary to respond to booking requests and deliver a tour is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other correspondence and spam prevention are based on the legitimate interest in managing business communications and protecting the form (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Inquiry data is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any related booking or dispute; records subject to statutory accounting obligations are retained for the applicable legal period.

Google Analytics and your choice

Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site, including pages viewed, approximate location and device/browser information. Its provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Analytics is optional and is enabled only after you accept statistics cookies. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG). Declining Analytics does not prevent you from browsing tours or contacting Maggie.

You can change or withdraw consent using Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawal applies to future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Consent preferences are remembered for up to 365 days unless you clear them sooner. The Cookie Policy describes cookies and consent controls. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

Service providers and international processing

WordPress.com/Automattic, Google Analytics and Gmail provide hosting, form, analytics and email services. Their services may involve processing outside the EEA, including in the United States. Applicable transfer safeguards depend on the provider and service, such as an applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Provider privacy notices describe their processing and safeguards.

External links

Instagram, Google reviews and Tripadvisor links take you to those services when clicked. Their own privacy policies apply there. These links are not embedded social feeds or review widgets.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time. Contact maggiethetourguide@gmail.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
